Our purpose

A Weight Loss Tips publishes practical, plain-language information about everyday eating, movement, sleep and habits. Our aim is to help readers make small, realistic changes. Everything we publish is educational. It is not medical advice and does not replace care from a qualified professional.

Who creates our content

Articles, recipes and tools are created by the A Weight Loss Tips editorial team. We do not present our writers as doctors, dietitians or fitness professionals, and we do not use invented author profiles, credentials or testimonials.

How we source information

Health statements in our articles are based on publicly available guidance from recognized public health and academic organizations, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the UK National Health Service (NHS), the World Health Organization (WHO) and university schools of public health.

  • Every article lists the sources it relies on, with the date each source was checked.
  • We prefer current guidance from government health agencies and peer-reviewed research.
  • If we can’t find an authoritative source for a claim, we leave the claim out.
  • We don’t promise specific results, such as how much or how quickly anyone will lose weight.
  • We don’t publish testimonials, endorsements or before-and-after stories.

Medical review

Our articles have not been reviewed by a medical professional. If an article is reviewed by a qualified professional in the future, the reviewer’s name, credentials and review date will be shown on that article. We never display review labels unless that review has actually taken place.

Recipes and nutrition information

Recipes are written for home cooks using common ingredients. We don’t show calorie or nutrient values, because they haven’t been calculated with a documented method. Dietary tags (such as vegan or gluten-free) and allergen lists are based on the listed ingredients. Product formulations vary, so always check labels, especially if you have a food allergy.

Calculators and tools

Each calculator explains the formula it uses, links to the original reference and describes its limitations. Results are general estimates, not personal recommendations.

The meal planner’s nutrition values come from USDA FoodData Central, and every food links to the USDA record it uses. Its totals are estimates too, and it doesn’t set calorie targets or score what you eat.

Corrections and updates

We review articles when public health guidance changes, and each article shows the date it was last updated. If you spot an error, please email contact@aweightlosstips.com with the page address and what you think should change. Corrections that change the meaning of an article are noted on that article.
